Project Information
The house required extensive refurbishment and modernisation. At basement level, structural walls were removed to create an open-plan kitchen and living space, with the kitchen relocated to improve light, flow and day-to-day use. The project involved a full strip back while retaining and restoring original features in line with the building’s listed status.
A small rear extension was rebuilt to form a new utility space. Internally, historic doors were refurbished and re-used, alongside new fire-rated internal glass doors to improve circulation and daylight. New flooring, Bathrooms and living spaces were introduced throughout the house.
Loud Architects also designed a bespoke set of rear doors, developed in full detail and fabricated by a specialist joiner before being delivered and installed in London.
A comprehensive joinery package runs throughout the house, including hallway seats, concealed pantries, wardrobes and integrated storage, alongside carefully considered lighting, wallpapers and soft furnishings.
